PURPOSE

Decision supported.

Converts astrophysical distance, redshift, luminosity, mass and time scales into order-of-magnitude notes.

Intended user

research, assurance and technical review teams

Output status

Preliminary outputHuman review requiredNot certification
USE CASES

Where this instrument fits.

  • Convert astrophysical units
  • Create order-of-magnitude notes
  • Check scale intuition
  • Prepare observation or inference context
INPUTS

Required input fields.

  • Distance parsec (required)
  • Redshift z (required)
  • Luminosity in solar units (required)
  • Mass in solar masses (required)
  • Time scale days (required)

Data handling: this interface uses the L2ET protected same-origin instrument engine. Do not enter confidential, regulated, privileged, incident, medical or sensitive operational data.

METHOD

Formula Workbench logic.

Converts parsec to light-years and meters, solar luminosity/mass proxies to SI, and time scale to seconds while noting low-redshift assumptions.

Source families

Assumptions

  • Cosmological distance conversion is approximate.
  • High-redshift calculations require a cosmology model.
  • Values are orientation estimates.
INTERACTIVE INSTRUMENT

Astrophysical scale conversion note.

Use the controls below to generate a preliminary artifact. The output is intentionally bounded and requires human review.

OUTPUT ARTIFACT

Astrophysical scale conversion note.

The generated artifact includes findings, assumptions, limitations, recommended next actions and exportable structured output.

EXAMPLE

Example input and output.

Example input

1000 parsec, z=0.1, 1 solar luminosity and 1 solar mass.

Example output

Outputs distance conversions, luminosity/mass proxies and redshift caution.

LIMITATIONS

What this tool does not do.

  • Does not perform precision cosmology.
  • Does not validate observational data.
  • Does not replace astronomy software.

This instrument does not provide legal, medical, cryptographic, engineering, regulatory or compliance certification.
